The dotted line has been signed. The little haiku gnomes working behind the scenes here at pilarski.ca are thrilled to announce that Patrick M. Pilarski's first full-length poetry collection, Huge Blue, will be published by the amazing and inspirational Leaf Press in the fall of 2009.
"I'm positively thrilled," said Pilarski, drinking oolong tea in his eighth-floor Edmonton apartment. "Leaf Press was my first choice as a home for Huge Blue. I can't think of another publisher I would rather have presenting the collection—it seems like such a great fit. Leaf Press has published some amazing books and chapbooks, and I'm honoured to be joining their catalogue."
A full-length collection of poetic travel sketches, Huge Blue explores the Canadian west and the relationship humans have with the natural world. Its presentation of selected short-form poetry—haiku, tanka, haibun, senryu, and quatrains—makes Huge Blue a direct and accessible poetic tour guide to Canada's stunning and evocative western landscape.
